Living Gate, the

A crystalline construct accidentally found by certain deities during the Dawn War. The Gate was sentient and acted as a seal to prevent the Far Realm from entering the cosmos. It was unwittingly opened by the deity Sis, and later destroyed by the Elder Gods in an attempt to halt the advance of the Far Realm. This was only partially successful as without the Gate the cosmos was no longer sealed from Outside invasion, though without the gate its capacity to encroach on the multiverse has been severely limited. No one knows who created the Living Gate, and some fear it was actually sent here by the Far Realm to stage an invasion.
